GFSI recognized standard
The IFS Food standard is a GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) recognized standard for audits to food industries. The goal is food safety and quality of processes and products. Concerns the food processes of manufacturing industries and industries that package bulk food .
IFS Food applies when products are “processed” or where there are hazards of product contamination during primary packaging. The Standard is important for all food industries, especially for private-label products, because it contains many requirements concerning meeting customer specifications.

Chain of Custody
Obtaining GLOBALG. A.P. Chain of Custody (CoC) certification ensures that the GLOBALG.A.P. certified product being grown maintains certification throughout the supply chain, from producer to final retailer (Retailer, Restaurants etc).
The Standard, in fact, establishes strict requirements for the handling of certified products and the proper segregation of certified products from conventional ones in all operational units where the product transits, all the way to the final consumer.
